Almont Township is located in Lapeer County, Michigan. The Township’s eastern boundary forms a border with St. Clair County, while the southern boundary is shared with Macomb County. The Township is linked to the larger southeast Michigan region by several important transportation routes which cross in or near the Township. Chief among these are M-53 and I-69. M-53 is a State trunkline, providing a north-south route between Detroit to the south and Port Austin to the north. I-69 bisects M-53 just north of the Township in an east-west direction, linking Port Huron with Lansing, Grand Rapids and Indiana.
