Seasonal Weight Restrictions commonly referred to as “Frost Laws” for Lapeer County will go into effect on Monday March 2, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. These restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.

ALMONT TOWNSHIP NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given there will be a public hearing before the Almont Township Planning Commission on March 11, 2020 at the Almont Township Hall, 819 N. Main Street, Almont, MI 48003, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider a proposed text amendment to Zoning Ordinance No. 39, as amended, Article 2, Section 2.3 ACCESSORY BUILDINGS TO ONE AND TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL USES, subsection H. If approved section H would be amended to read “An accessory building shall not be constructed prior to the principal residential structure”. Copies of the proposed text amendment and any related documents will be available for inspection at the Township Office during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be available at the time and place of the meeting. All interested citizens will be given an opportunity to comment on this application. Written comments may be submitted up to the time of the meeting at the Township Hall.

Internet Purchase Exchange Safe Zone
In the interest of providing a safe and convenient location for everyone to connect and conduct their sales and/or purchases, the Almont Township Board has created a local Internet Purchase Exchange Safe Zone. The Internet Purchase Exchange Safe Zone is in the rear parking lot of the Almont Twp/Village Hall at 819 N. Main Street in Almont. A sign has been installed clearly showing the established area, which will be left/south of the recycling canisters. The area is under video surveillance.
The Almont Township Clerk is taking applications for anyone that would like to be an election inspector.
All applicants must be a registered voter in the State of Michigan.
